This is an undeveloped beach really just a 6km long sand bar separated from Ile St Martin by the Salt pans. There is a rough hardcore road out there may be 2kms long and then the sand is hard enough to drive on if you don't know the place stick to the well driven track. As it is so long everyone can be spread out thinly and there is a definite mix of naturist and non naturist but no one seems to care. You'll find fewer naturist taking a naked hike up and down the beach due to the non naturist. There are always plenty of dogs on this beach as in summer all the others are forbidden for dogs.
The sand can be rock hard on this beach so dig it over or pick a soft spot. The beach is unsuitable in strong offshore winds with no shelter. I like this beach especially bright and early in the morning for a naked hike and swims along the 6kms when the only other company might be an odd fisherman and some campers. Its not a very sociable place due to the spreading out of beach users during the day so bring your own company. You will be entertained by wind and Kite surfers who go up and down in the shallows when there is enough breeze. Other ways of getting here are kayaking, boating or biking it is part of one of the marked bike trails (Gruissan Tourisme). Basically this is a wild beach where anything goes in the future this may become less accessible to vehicles to make the place more suitable for flora and fauna.
