Finca Los Etera

We found "The Finca" via the recommendation of a trusted "insider". - This was then further endorsed by another invaluable scource and so we booked a four night stay. (Our holiday plans included the remainder of our holiday being spent at an "alternative" venue).


We moved on as planned at the end of our four nights with memories of this idylic epoque that felt more like a fortight's break.


Two nights later and with us both feeling a little less like "partying" than expected, we rang Nikki and Nigel and asked if they would take us back? ... After careful deliberation and with no need for us to make false promises of good behaviour, they said they felt they could just about put up with us for the remaining seven nights of our vacation!


We "chilled" albeit (at aproaching fifty), we're probably a little too old to use this kind of vocabulary? We slept, we chatted, we read, we ate (very well), and we avoided any mention of joining the temperance society.


Seven slow and restful days later; in the company of other relaxed folk who also occasionaly like to live life "the other side of the line", we packed our bags and emerged from the cocooned life of The Finca.


Our experience of the dry-witted, entertaining and ever hospitible company of Nigel and Nikki was difficult to leave. Never-the-less; the real world beckoned and after the appropriate comments written in thier guest book we headed off back down the river bed, airport-bound.


We had a truly wonderful time and obeyed what seemed to be the only rule of The Finca: IE: There are no rules! - We will definately return again soon, leaving any rule book of conventional life or conformity at the far end of the long bumpy track that leads to this secluded retreat.
