We (my wife and I) enjoyed a five-night stay at Les Fourneaux, plus an extra night, a couple of weeks later, in the room set aside for overnight visitors or those campers wanting to make an early getaway in the morning (which costs an extra 10 euros). It is a beautiful, friendly, clean, pretty and well-organised campsite, and because you can choose the type of pitch - family, child-free or wild - it can also be a tranquil, peaceful stay. Most of those staying were Dutch and middle-aged, and out of 60 pitches, we were the only English visitors. We chose the campsite because its location, in the very centre of France, makes it easy to include in any tour of the country, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the (mostly flat and always quiet and rural) area by bike, including the nearest city, Moulins, which is pleasant and worth a visit. What also drew us to Les Fourneaux was the opportunity for some nude walking, which was nice, although only possible over the site's many fields. Best of all about the site is: naturism is the norm. We have been to so-called naturist places where people dress when there seems no reason, especially in the evening, but the vast majority of those staying were happy to spend virtually all their time without clothes. So we would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.

What makes this camping special is that it set in nature with fantastic walks.
There is a large variety of pitches so plenty of choice to suit everyone, the pitches are huge.
It is an adults only camping, if you want to spend time in the pool, usually you find that you have it to yourself.
It's so peaceful there.
The site is Dutch owned ( 99.9% of Dutch people speak perfect English) and the majority of the guests are Dutch, but Brits have also found this uncrowded, quiet paradise. In all a very nice bunch of people who always find time for a quick natter in passing.
The only complaint is that all of the toilet blocks are a bit dated, but having mentioned this they are always kept spotless.
Getting there from the ferry ports couldn't be easier. It's about a 6 hour steady motorway drive with the caravan. We always make a couple of tea stops on route.
We are looking forward to retuning again this year for the fourth time, wonderful can't wait.
